CIMA - Centre of International
Modern Art is a pioneer and premier art centre in India. CIMA (Centre
of International Modern Art) was set up in 1993 under the auspices of
the Ananda Bazar Group of Publications which has been one of the pioneers
in the promotion of art. CIMA was undertaken to fulfill
the aspirations and demands of the artists and art aware community of
India.
CIMA is spread over 11,500sq.ft. of floor area in central Calcutta
and houses a 9000sq.ft. state-of-the-art gallery, a comprehensive database,
evaluation facilities. CIMA has curated and organized important
national and international exhibitions in association with Singapore Art
Museum and the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi. It has taken a traveling
exhibition of 200 paintings to London. This major show helped begin an
awareness of contemporary Indian art in the west. CIMA's
work and activities focuses on the promotion of the finest in contemporary
Indian art. |
