Born in 1982, Anupam Basu completed his B.V.A. in Paintings in 2007 and M.F.A. in Graphics in 2011, from Rabindra Bharati University.
Anupan usually works with video graphics. In his words about his work Hanu-man which is being shown in this exhibition, “In my video, the Sanjeevani seems to be just the basic needs of human life such as green vegetables, which are being carried by Lord Hanu-man more to show himself as a hero, and to find some fame rather than the actual purpose itself. Now of course this is not the same character from Ramayana, rather, a personified visual in the context of contemporary culture. So as a whole this is a visual of an Indian man who is synonymous to Lord Hanu-man, not by his works rather by the visual only.”
