Vinod Ambalathara

Hailing from Meengoth, Kasargod, Vinod Ambalathara’s (b. 1975) passion for live paintings truly took flight during the Covid-19 lockdown. His daily morning walks served as a beautiful source of inspiration, with the interplay of light and shadow adding a magical touch to his creations. His paintings reflected the natural beauty of the sloping grass, rocky hills, and valleys, with the intricate details of the vegetation adding depth to the visuals. Vinod’s home, situated at the edge of a vast red rock formation, served as a constant reminder of the warm memories he had built in the grasslands. The footprints of countless species imprinted on the curves and ups and downs of the landscape added a firm feel to his artwork. From closed factories to vacant buildings, Vinod’s observations of the lockdown’s impact on the environment made their way into his paintings.
